REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMANENT REGISTRATION
Within One Month of Provisional Registration:
Extendable for good reason by a period of up to two months

The original Deletion Certificate from the previous flag, giving the descriptive particulars of the vessel, her last registered ownership and indicating that at the time of her deletion from the register she was free from encumbrances.
Within Six Months of Provisional Registration:
Extendable for good reason by a period or periods not exceeding in aggregate six months.
1. A fax from Class indicating the validity dates of all the statutory certificates, including specification of all exemptions and/or conditions. Certificates are normally first issued on an interim basis, valid for five months and then on a full term basis. The validity dates of the full term certificates must be communicated by Class to the Registrar as soon as they are issued. The same applies to the DOC and SMC as issued in terms of the ISM Code and to the ISSC as issued in terms of the ISPS Code;
2 A certified copy of the International Tonnage Certificate 69 as issued on behalf of the Maltese Administration and an original Certificate of Survey*;
3. The Ship's Carving and Marking Note duly endorsed;
4. An undertaking by the technical managers, addressed to the Registrar of Maltese Ships, to surrender the Provisional Certificate of Malta Registry within one month of receipt of the permanent certificate;
* The International Tonnage Certificate 69 delivered with the vessel upon provisional registration remains, in terms of Article10(3) of the Convention, in force for a period not exceeding three months, or until a new Certificate is issued on behalf of the Maltese Administration, whichever is the earlier. Such new Certificate, along with the related Certificate of Survey could be issued by Class or by one of a number of freelance surveyors, recognised by the Maltese Administration for this purpose. In any case, we would require written instructions from clients in order to request the Registrar's specific authorisation for the issue of the documents.
NB The Ship's Carving and Marking Note duly endorsed by a class surveyor or by a Maltese Consular Officer is accepted as a fax by the Registrar.
