SHIP STATION LICENCE
In terms of the 1974/78 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS 74/78), ships of 300 GT and over are required to carry radio equipment on board - the standards required are stiputaled in the said Convention.
In terms of the Radio Communications Act Chapter 49, however, every Maltese Registered Ship, whatever her tonnage, which carries any radio installation is required to hold a valid Ship Station Licence.
